RE: I-15 vs. I-215 in CA

I would take 215 to 60 then back on 215 until it hooks back up to the 15, it's an easier drive. I would then take 76 across to I-5. 76 isn't high speed but about your best option. And it's just that little jog that makes me like 15 better... it's a straighter shot on 15 from San Bernardino (where the North end of the split is) to Murietta. Then either 76 or 78 over to Carlsbad. JMHO, & YMMV.... etc, etc...

RE: GPS again

sounds like you need to re-install the drivers that let the GPS talk to the software..... that'll allow the plug and play functions.

RE: DOOR LATCH BROKEN LOCKED OUT NOW

Drill the lock cylinder, or call a locksmith. A crowbar will cause more damage than you're willing to repair, unless you know what you're doing.

RE: Randsburg dust can kill

Now, some of the rest of the story... From the article: "I don't know of anyone who's died of arsenic poisoning," retiree Darell White, 71, said in Randsburg, a living ghost town of Western-themed restaurants and antique stores. The agency released preliminary results this past week from dust, water, urine and dirt samples taken from the backyards of about 28 residents that did not show elevated arsenic levels. Just more efforts by the environ's to close more OHV areas, imho....

RE: THE BLINKING LIGHT

Even on shore power, the converter still runs, producing 12vdc. But the refrigerator is not enough of a draw to satisfy that output. The battery needs to be connected to give the converter something to give it's output to.

RE: Bad converter fan (12 volt)

If they're anything like a computer power supply fan, if you're handy enough to pull the converter, you can change out the fan easily. Any electronics store would have them.... for only a few $$, rather than the many $$ for a whole converter.

RE: KQ Ranch Resort Near Julian CA

...the inevitable hard sell during the required 90 minute tour! And that's what you'll get. You can either have fun with the agent and sting them along, or tell them up front that you're not interested. The storage area and sales office got leveled by the Cedar fire in 2003. The rest of the campground got singed pretty well.... It's getting kinda chilly up there this time of year (Weather Link Here). Find out about, and sign up for the Wolf Preserve tour if they still have it. It's the most interesting thing up there, next to Julian.

RE: Wind vs Awning

When the wind starts blowing the awning comes in... If we leave the campground the awning comes in... When we go to bed the awning comes in... There's the answer, right there.

RE: Does anyone Boondock in an HTT?

Used to do it all the time in the deserts of California, before the toyhauler... Ours was a 19' Tahoe Lite that we would "turtle" in if the wind got too bad... Honda 3000is generator would power anything we had, and propane for the rest. Some of the nights got into the low 30's, but that's what the heater was for!

RE: Easy Chicken Recipe ??

plop the chicken in a cassarole (baking) pan big enough to hold them all. Pour a can of cream of mushroom soup over the chicken, then sprinkle a package of Liptons Onion Soup mix over all.... bake at 350 for an hour. Easy AND good.
